Summary: We had a wonderful holiday at Le Villageou. The cottages were spacious and very well equipped. There was a large outdoor space with great facilities and a well maintained pool and jacuzzi. David, the host was generous and helpful. We would love to return one day.

Summary: Perfect for our two families with parents in one and all the children in the smaller cottage. In the middle of the forest but no firewood for fireplace. Strange.

Summary: Le Villageou was the perfect location for our family reunion. The house is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped and the setting is idyllic with lots of outdoor space, including a wonderful heated pool and a boule rink, all set in the most beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed the peaceful location and the lack of noise and light pollution – was great for star gazing and we spotted deer coming out of the woods. Le Villageou is also ideally situated for visits to local attractions and not far to go to local markets, boulangeries etc to pick up some of the wonderful local produce. The kitchen had everything you could wish for and the outside dining area was perfect for both lunch and dinner. Mr Martin was a fantastic host, greeting us on our first day and providing fascinating information on the history of the property, lots of helpful tips on places to visit and the best places for local produce/wine – and also giving us some delicious samples. We would highly recommend the property and hope to come back one day and bring more family with us. The three double rooms with ensuite bathrooms plus the studio with futon bed in the Capelane were perfect for our group of eight adults. To include the second, separate house on this property that shares the pool and grounds would be ideal for such a larger group.

Summary: We received a wonderfully warm welcome from David who continued to offer his advice and services when needed. The whole setup is perfect for a couple of families with plenty of space for everyone being together or finding their own little hideaway. Great pool and Jacuzzi and sports activities and equipment are all in excellent order. A clear night reveals an awe inspiring sky due to the total lack of ambient light. We had a fantastic stay and would wholeheartedly recommend this property. Thank you.

Summary: Our family group of 16 enjoyed a wonderful stay at David's property this summer. The setting is very peaceful and secluded and the houses were spacious and well maintained, with plenty of indoor/outdoor seating areas and ensuite showers in each bedroom. We spent a lot of time by the pool, which was also clean, well maintained and secure against wandering children. Table tennis, volley ball and water polo were fun additions also. Although we had no issues during our stay, David was very accessible and a most welcoming and gracious host. We would recommend the Wednesday night market in nearby Belves (ask at the Tourist Info. there to help arrange transport if needed). We highly recommend this beautiful property!

Summary: We were four families consisting of 8 adults and 10 children and our stay at Le Villageou was idyllic. Everything had been thought of, which made our stay very enjoyable. It was lovely for us all to sit down for dinner together in the French sunshine and to play boules, volleyball or ping pong when we wanted to have a break from relaxing. The pool is very clean and safe (with a gate that the children needed an adult to open). Both houses are finished to a very high standard, with everything you could need - I actually returned from our hols with clean washing! Any problems were quickly resolved by David Martin. The Belves food market on a Wednesday night is an absolute must , as was our kayak trip.......we are literally trying to arrange when we can return. A remarkable, beautiful and idyllic get away that I would recommend to anyone, thanks David!!

Summary: Villagers has a wide range of outdoor facilities to meet all needs, e.g. undercover table tennis, joules, badminton, football court and of course pool. The location is perfect for those wanting the peace and tranquillity of the French countryside but close enough to towns for shopping and sightseeing. Overall, a fantastic choice that I can't praise highly enough. Owner is also a real gentlemen keen to ensure his guests get the most from their stay at Villageou.

Summary: Excellent properties well cleaned, a high standard of decoration comprehensively equipped, set in a tranquil situation with a very clean and child safe swimming pool. The owner was very attentive without intruding and his spoken english was very good. We found the best of both worlds seclusion but well placed for Belves the river and Sarlat. I would recommend the properties for large extended families and groups of friends
